Jack Jack Num Num Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (2 Sticks)
  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 1/4 cups of flour
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2
You need to brown the butter and set it aside to cool until it starts to solidify. If you’ve never browned butter, it’s quite easy.

Put the butter into a pan and heat it up over medium heat. Stir butter constantly as it melts. Soon, the butter will begin to foam, about 5-8 minutes. The foaming will stop eventually, and you should see the butter on the bottom and outer edges starting to toast, or turn “brown”. Remove the pan from the heat and continue to stir. The mixture will become a golden brown.

Step 3
Cream butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl until fluffy.

Step 4
To that mixture, add in the whole egg, egg yolk, and vanilla and thoroughly combine

Step 5
Add in the flour and baking soda and mix with the batter.

Step 6
Add chocolate chips, mix until combined

Step 7
Scoop 2 tablespoons of the mix into balls, put on a baking sheet and chill for at least an hour, though the longer the better.

Step 8
Bake at 350° for 7-10 minutes or until your cookies are golden brown on the edges. The centers should be soft and chewy.

Enjoy!

Our Story

A few years ago, my wife found this recipe and tried it out. At the time, we hadn’t had Jack Jack Num Num Cookies, and these were delicious. The browned butter adds a depth to the cookies that normal cookies don’t have.

After finally having a Jack Jack Num Num Cookie, I can tell you, this recipe is close. These are smaller cookies than what you get in Disney Parks. But these are in the same realm as the traditional ones.
